STAR WARS 1313
I was the original AD on this project, leaving the studio after its 3rd reboot. Surprisingly, the reboot changed almost nothing of my direction, save for replacing the two co-op main characters with Boba Fett, at George Lucas' request.
The high level direction focused on two simple goals of 1) return SW to its lived-in world roots, where everything has a retro-futuristic construction aesthetic, and 2) give it a primal edge. To that end, we designed weapons, locations, vehicles and characters utilizing elements available in the late 70s. And we took existing character designs, and improved their proportions and surface qualities to be more realistic looking. All character and location context was develop by me, along with detailed style sheets for their aesthetics.
Our work was so successful within the organization that the look of the show began to draft off the look of the game.
